Quality Control Manager – Position Summary
The Quality Control Manager develops, implements, and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. This position is 1st shift 7:30 to 3:30 and offers fantastic benefits and bonuses.
Responsibilities
· Supervise quality control technicians.
· Ensure quality of extruded sheet products, including appearance, thickness, functionality, and dimensional accuracy.
· Approve incoming and outgoing products.
· Calibrate measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, color meters, gloss meters, and tape measures.
· Implement and enforce quality and process procedures.
· Coordinate quality objectives with management to meet customer expectations and specifications.
· Train quality personnel.
· Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
· Conduct internal and external quality audits; maintain ISO/QMS documentation.
· Maintain regulatory compliance and update WPI forms.
· Prepare COAs and COCs.
· Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
· Perform color testing of incoming materials (CIE Lab knowledge a plus).
· Maintain color standards and industry best practices.
· Investigate RMAs.
· Develop or revise QC procedures with management approval.
· Review customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
· Spend approximately 65% of time in the office and 35% on the plant floor.
Skills & Requirements
· Strong mathematical aptitude.
· Ability to use rulers, calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and scales.
· Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools.
· Leadership, training, communication, and team management skills.
· Knowledge of production equipment, material handling, quality control, and safety.
· Willingness to troubleshoot production lines and coordinate equipment repairs or certifications.
· Ability to follow written safety procedures.
· Plastic sheet extrusion experience preferred.
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
