The Family:
This loving family of three is seeking a fantastic nanny to partner with!
Their son is a sweet, cheerful baby who is curious to explore the world
around him. They are hoping to build a long-term relationship with a nanny
who will engage and nurture their son’s inquisitive mind, and who can
become a trusted, valued part of their family.
Mom and dad will be returning to work full time in November (possibly
sooner). Until that time, they can be somewhat flexible with the exact
hours. This could look like starting with fewer hours or days and gradually
increasing to full time or offering date night or weekend care hours (if the
nanny is available for that) or potentially offering some family assisting
hours. There are no pets in the home.
The Job Description:
The nanny’s primary responsibility will be providing warm, attentive, and
developmentally appropriate care for their son. Job duties will include:
-Engaging him through reading, singing, conversation, floor play,
tummy time, sensory play, and other age-appropriate activities
-Taking him outside for walks and, as he gets older, to parks, libraries,
and other enriching activities
-Following and helping us maintain consistent feeding, nap, and daily
routines (including transitioning to crib naps)
-Preparing and offering bottles, solid foods, and simple child meals as
appropriate
-Cleaning bottles, pump parts, feeding supplies, and child dishes
-Changing diapers, dressing him, and attending to his general hygiene
-Keeping his nursery, play spaces, and feeding areas clean and
organized
-Washing, folding, and putting away their child’s laundry
-Restocking diapers, wipes, feeding supplies, and other child-related
items
-Maintaining a screen-free environment, following established pediatric
recommendations for his developmental stage
-Communicating clearly with us about his day, including sleep, feeding,
mood, activities, and any concerns
They are also interested in partnering with a nanny willing to take on some
household assisting support during naps or other available time (outside of
rest/meal breaks). This includes:
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Family laundry
- Light kitchen and common-area tidying / organization
- Simple food preparation for the family
- Helping keep household and baby supplies organized and stocked
- Putting away groceries
Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:
Their ideal nanny has a minimum of three years of relevant infant care
experience and has stellar references that are able to confirm
demonstrated warmth, reliability, sound judgment, hands-on infant
experience, and excellent communication skills. The nanny should possess
strong knowledge of infant development, age-appropriate activities, feeding
(including introducing solids), sleep, and safety. The ability to speak
Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) would be a bonus but is not a
requirement.
The nanny should have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
They should be up to date with all standard vaccinations including Covid +
booster, TDaP, and annual Influenza. The nanny must be current with their
CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to update asap), which would
ideally include hands-on/in-person training vs. a strictly online course.
