Eye Care Assistant / Optometric Technician
Location: Visionary Eye Clinic – Vienna, WV
Job Type: Full-Time
Expected Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
About the Position
Visionary Eye Clinic, a growing three-doctor practice in Vienna, WV, is looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Eye Care Assistant / Optometric Technician to join our team.
Our doctors see patients five days a week, with typically two doctors seeing patients each day. This creates a busy, team-focused environment while allowing us to provide each patient with excellent care and a positive experience.
No previous medical or eye care experience is required. We provide full training for the position. We are looking for someone who is reliable, enjoys working with people, is willing to learn, and works well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye exams, including pre-testing, taking measurements, and documenting medical history
- Assist doctors during exams and procedures
- Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out
- Collect payments and verify insurance information
- Schedule appointments and perform basic administrative tasks
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and workspaces
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
- Help ensure each patient has a smooth and positive experience
- Work together with other team members to keep the office running efficiently
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Dependable and punctual
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- No previous medical or eye care experience required
