Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including dementia-specific programs
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship, conversation, and recreational engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation in activities
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure residents’ needs are met during activities
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
- Assist with transportation within the facility for medical appointments or outings, ensuring safety with equipment such as lifts or wheelchairs
Requirements
- Prior experience working with seniors or in long-term care settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals is highly preferred
- Must have an outgoing personality, compassionate, and creative with a desire to serve our residents
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities; experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive attitude toward caregiving and team collaboration
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
