Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Technician II to support the operation and reliability of our rubber mixing manufacturing equipment. The Maintenance Technician II will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment improvements to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on rubber mixing and processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain Banbury mixers, mills, conveyors, extruders, material handling systems, and related production equipment.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Install, modify, and test equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with facility maintenance projects as required.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call schedules when necessary.
Preferred
- Experience in rubber manufacturing, tire manufacturing, plastics, or chemical processing.
- PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Industrial electrical experience up to 480V.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Technical degree or industrial maintenance certification.
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
