Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks and trailers. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting our operational goals. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on tractor-trailers.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and work logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and service schedules.
- Collaborate with team members to assemble new equipment or perform upgrades that enhance operational capabilities.
Skills
- Proven experience working in a dealership environment or with heavy equipment repair is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, suspension components, and tire services.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of using power tools effectively.
- Ability to perform automotive diagnostics with precision to identify issues quickly and accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
