Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, adhering strictly to DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across regional areas.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques while maintaining safety standards for hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Transport automobile parts or other logistics cargo securely over the road (OTR), ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition, including checking for compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Experience handling hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers for freight transport.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involved in truck loading/unloading cargo safely.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers.
