Position Summary
Come join our NHS-Sequoyah Radiology team! This position consists of performing X-rays and CT scans on ER patients and inpatients. Our hospital has a six-bed Emergency Department and a small inpatient floor that you will be providing imaging for as needed throughout the night. Images are interpreted via tele-radiology. Once fully trained, the night shift technologist works independently.
Position Accountabilities
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Transports patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains room.
Prepares the patient, obtains patient history, answers any patient questions, explains the procedure, and ensures patient’s cooperation during the examination.
Provides radiologic services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using knowledge/skills unique to the requirements of each age group to ensure optimal patient care.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered; ensures quality images.
Requests and stocks supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
Performs the duties of Radiologic Technologist and CAT Scan Technologist.
Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; follows chain of command for relaying major malfunctions.
Checks next-day outpatient schedule for correct orders and exams
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
Maintains CE compliance as required by certification
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education – High School or equivalent + completion of accredited Radiologic Technology program
Required Course(s)/Training – Completion of accredited program in radiologic technology
Required Certification/Registration – Radiologic Technologist License, Basic Life Support
Preferred Education – Associate’s Degree/Certificate
Preferred Course(s)/Training – Computed Tomography (preferred, will train if needed), Ultrasound (preferred, not required)
Preferred Certification/Registration – American Registry Radiologic Technologist
