Job Summary
Join our dynamic transportation team as a Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimized routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers to coordinate deliveries, report delays or issues, and confirm delivery details.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across long distances.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving.
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight security and proper load distribution.
