The company is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping/Receiving Clerk to join our General & Administrative team at The Westin. As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for coordinating the receipt, inspection, storage, and dispatch of materials and products. You will work closely with warehouse, logistics, and administrative staff to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all shipments meet company and customer requirements.
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying quantities, descriptions, and condition of goods against purchase orders and packing slips.

Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate supervisor promptly.

Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure efficient space utilization and easy access to inventory.

Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation for outgoing shipments.

Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move goods safely within the facility.

Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions using the company's warehouse management or inventory tracking system.

Coordinate with carriers and delivery drivers to schedule pickups and deliveries in a timely manner.

Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.

Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Basic computer literacy for data entry and inventory tracking.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).

Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems.

Previous experience in a distribution center, manufacturing facility, or logistics environment.

This position is based in 1114 Washington Blvd Detroit, MI 48226, and requires on-site presence; remote work is not available for this role. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.25, depending on experience and qualifications.
