Electrical Inspector - Full Time
The City of West Bend is accepting applications for a full-time Electrical Inspector and all those with Electrical Inspection experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will perform inspections and enforcement duties: performing U.D.C. inspections for electric, carpentry, masonry, heating, air conditioning, insulation, etc.; performing miscellaneous inspections for roofing, sheds, decks, etc.; performing commercial inspections and reviewing plans for construction and plumbing projects; determining compliance with appropriate code requirements; issuing orders to correct code violations; issuing building permits; calculating permit fees; completing required reports.
Additionally, this candidate will provide technical information and assistance in the department: advising, informing, and answering code-related questions of contractors, developers, and the general public over the telephone and at the service counter; reviewing plans for construction projects; issuing building permits; and attending meetings, seminars and continuing education programs and assisting the Superintendent of Building Inspection with the presentation of code related seminars.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions

Master Electrician Certification or Journeyman Electrician that holds a Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification.

Other required inspection certifications listed below will have to be obtained upon hiring.

UDC Plumbing Inspector,

UDC Building and HVAC Inspector,

Commercial Building Inspector.

A Valid Wisconsin driver's license required.

Ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools such as an automobile, two-way radio, electric meter, tape measure, engineering rule, camera, copying machine, pressure gauges, and telephone.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to perform on-site inspections and be able to climb, bend and reach.
