Shippensburg University is currently recruiting for the position of Print Production Technician.
This position is responsible for operating high-speed, high-volume printing equipment, prioritizes daily tasks to meet deadlines, and ensures all work meets quality standards. The position involves handling complex, time-sensitive, and data-sensitive print and mail production, as well as managing the delivery, shipping, and receiving of materials. Responsible for organizing job runs, conducting quality assurance checks, and helping maintain equipment to optimal working conditions. Must be detailed oriented.
Maintains and prepares for operation of all duplication, printing, and latex printing equipment. Equipment includes (and not limited to): duplicating machines, latex printer, folding machine, punch machine, thermal binding machine, spiral binding machine, paper cutter, collator, booklet maker, coil binding, foil stamping, laminator, and sewing machine. Makes minor repairs and adjustments as needed on equipment. Receives work in the form of oral, written, or electronic communication and can work independently. Examples of work produced include (but not limited to) stationery, flyers, newsletters, brochures, yard signs, banners, stickers, and posters.
Installation of latex products (like wall murals, floor stickers, door privacy clings, etc.).
Performs pick up and shredding of institutional documents. Receives customers at the front counter and provides customer service.
Assists supervisor in the preparation of inventory, supplies, materials orders, and monthly charge back reports.
Ensures a safe work environment is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
- One year in print production, or one year of experience in the operation of print or mail insertion equipment or similar machinery used in a print or mail production facility
- Knowledge of equipment and machinery used in print production
- Knowledge of the use and functionality of Microsoft Office Suite software (including Word and Excel), Adobe Suite (Acrobat), Flexi DESIGN program, Fiery print server
- Ability to work with budget in Sourcepoint
- Ability to operate a personal computer
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
