This is a consistent 30-hour per week role that offers health insurance coverage alongside additional perks.
Performs assigned custodial duties necessary for the maintenance and upkeep of the Weber Leisure Center. Utilizes all available resources of the District and its' staff to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of services, and will carry out the established policies of the Skokie Park District.
Performs routine custodial tasks and related work as required and directed by the Weber Leisure Center Custodial and Operations Supervisor.
Maintains facility through performing the following tasks: washes windows, mops floors, vacuums, washes carpet, waxes floors, cleans and sanitizes rest rooms, shovels snow, cleans facility equipment, cleans and maintains kitchen appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pots), empties trash and recycling receptacles, water/prunes indoor plants, changes air conditioner and furnace filters, cleans facility grounds of litter and debris, makes minor building repairs.
Works cooperatively with other staff, supervisors, and the public.
Assist the supervisor in room rental set-up and take-down
Assists in the facility performance and safety audits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to work independently. Ability to follow a schedule and manage time and projects accordingly. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to operate light machinery and facility equipment. Ability to positively interact with staff and customers. Ability to follow proper maintenance and safety practices for all equipment and supplies. Adheres to and actively enforces the safety responsibilities and safety procedures as outlined in the District's Safety Manual, and overall risk management program. Incorporates the District's core values of commitment, service, integrity, inclusiveness, openness, innovation and environmental stewardship in all work performed.

Must be a responsible and organized adult and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). At least two years of custodial maintenance experience is preferred. The individual Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be an adult at least 18 years of age.
** This job falls in paygrade PT5. The target hiring range for this position is $17.5- $19.00 depending on qualifications.
