The Merit Apprenticeship Alliance is seeking an organized, energetic, and people-focused Engagement Coordinator to support apprentice recruitment, contractor engagement, and workforce development initiatives across New York State. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating multiple projects, and making a meaningful impact on individuals pursuing rewarding careers in the skilled trades.

What You'll Do
Apprentice Recruitment & Engagement
- Recruit apprentices using Indeed, social media, NYSDOL Job Service Division, community-based organizations (CBOs), schools, and other outreach methods.
- Manage the apprentice recruitment, application, interview, and onboarding process.
- Coordinate candidate interviews and present qualified finalists to hiring staff.
- Conduct apprentice orientation covering benefits, on-the-job training (OJT), related instruction, and program requirements.
- Process apprentice enrollment documents and maintain complete electronic records.
- Coordinate contractor assignments and apprentice OJT notifications.
Apprentice & Contractor Support
- Support Resource Developers by coordinating apprentice assignments and contractor communications.
- Monitor apprentice OJT hours, wage progressions, and Blue Book submissions for accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure required signatures, documentation, and monthly reporting are complete.
- Notify apprentices and contractors of wage increases and provide wage clarification.
- Maintain accurate apprentice and contractor information in HubSpot and internal databases.
Outreach & Program Development
- Build relationships with community organizations and workforce partners.
Administrative Coordination
- Maintain organized files in SharePoint and internal databases.
- Coordinate staff and apprentice travel for conferences, meetings, and training events, including hotels, flights, and rental vehicles.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Two or more years of recruiting, workforce development, human resources, customer service, or administrative coordination experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM or database systems (HubSpot experience is a plus).
- Ability to interact professionally with apprentices, contractors, staff, and community partners.
