We are seeking a Lead Pastor who will provide the vision and compassionate care that will enable Horizon to continue growing, both as a community and as individuals. Our Lead Pastor will encourage and inspire through teaching and personal interaction. We are seeking a pastor who will work with leaders and volunteers to maintain and develop ministries that help to motivate spiritual growth and that impact the community. We desire a leader who will help us to deeply connect with God and with each other.
Qualifications
· Holds or in process of obtaining a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution - Masters of Divinity or Master of Theology preferred
· Pastoral experience is preferred
· Gifted Preacher/teacher
· Ability to pastor/shepherd a diverse group of people
· Mission-minded (locally and globally)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower others and foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment
· Must be self-disciplined
· Skilled at managing multiple priorities and working effectively under pressure
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership:
· Preach and Teach the Word of God using illustrations/explanations in order to apply Biblical principles to daily life
· Provide spiritual leadership with the support of the Elder boardPlan and lead services, in collaboration with the Worship Leader
· Responsible for obtaining guest speakers when out of town
· Lead and develop lay leaders and staff
· Facilitate and encourage spiritual growth and discipleship in church members through the development and implementation of small group ministries, Bible studies, and other educational programs
· Ensure the church mission is carried out (in conjunction with the Elder board)
· Attend Elder and Ministry Leadership Team meetings
· Work with church leadership to establish and execute a vision and strategic plan for the church’s growth
Pastoral Care:
· Officiate at weddings, funerals, baptisms, dedications
· Visit church members who are sick, homebound or hospitalized
· Provide pastoral care to church members experiencing crisis
· Maintain a network of counselors and therapists with which to provide referrals for church members
· Be accessible and work from the church building rather than from home
· Work to connect and engage with all church members
· Willing to receive Stephen Leader Training in order to be familiar with and assist in leading the Stephen Ministry
Church Administration:
· Perform all duties in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of Horizon Church.
· Oversee the administration and management of church operations
· Direct and oversee staff, including leading staff meetings
· Willing to meet with volunteer teams and/or leaders as needed or requested
· Work with the Ministry Leadership Team in providing direction and guidance to the various ministry teams
Community Involvement:
· Build relationships with the community by, for example, participating in community outreach events
· Build relationships with our global ministry partners. When feasible, consider participation in a mission trip to a global partner
· Engage with community groups that use our facility, such as AA/NA
Collaborate with other local organizations to address community needs

Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
