Industrial Electrician
Location: Haverhill, Ohio – ALTIVIA Petrochemicals
Job Summary
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical systems and equipment that support safe and reliable plant operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining electrical infrastructure, performing preventive maintenance, supporting plant reliability initiatives, and ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and company safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, modify, and improve electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout the facility.
- Inspect, test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and support operational reliability.
- Perform all work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, engineering drawings, and established procedures.
- Complete maintenance documentation, repair records, work orders, and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain adequate inventories of electrical supplies, replacement parts, and maintenance materials.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement timely corrective actions to restore equipment to service.
- Perform preventive maintenance on low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, including:
- Inspecting contact alignment, wipe, and gap measurements.
- Cleaning and lubricating primary electrical connections.
- Inspecting and testing mechanical and electrical interlocks.
- Cleaning electrical cubicles and equipment enclosures.
- Lubricating moving components and mechanisms.
- Perform preventive maintenance on facility transformers, including:
- Inspecting transformers, insulators, potheads, bushings, and electrical connections for signs of wear, damage, or overheating.
- Inspecting pressure relief devices, tap changers, cooling systems, and liquid level indicators.
- Verifying equipment grounding systems, ground buses, and grounding straps.
- Inspecting and tightening external bolted electrical connections as required.
- Support electrical reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area and follow all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of industrial electrical experience required; experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Completion of an electrical program from a technical school, trade school, or equivalent training preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician License or NCCER Electrical Certification preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, equipment, materials, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical equipment.
- Strong preventive maintenance experience involving electrical distribution systems, motors, transformers, breakers, and related equipment.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and testing on protective relays is preferred.
- Ability to diagnose electrical problems and implement effective corrective actions.

- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment and respond to operational needs as required.
