Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (RST) with hospital experience to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization, decontamination, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient environment for patient care by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols. Duties
- Receive, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical devices according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control procedures during all stages of processing to prevent contamination.
- Utilize medical terminology and anatomy knowledge to identify instrument components and ensure proper handling.
- Perform routine quality checks on sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles for compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other hospital departments to fulfill instrument requests promptly.
- Document all processing activities thoroughly in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- High school graduate or GED or Three (3) years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
- Certified Central Service Technician certification and Instrument Specialist Certification
- BLS
- We will require a CRCST from HSPA/ISCHAMM or CBSPD. (within 18 months of hire)
- Must be 18 years of age prior to start.
- Must hold an active certification.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred.
- Technician or equivalent education/work experience, preferred
