Our client in the construction/design and manufacturing space is looking for an Estimator on a direct hire basis to work out of the corporate office in Burlington, MA. The client moves quickly through the interview process and will be looking for someone who can do a Mon-Fri traditional office hours shift. This role requires a foundational understanding of construction management principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality estimates that align with project goals.
Duties:
- Review, interpret, and accurately estimate scope of work as described in the project documents
- Review insurance and project requirements with the administrative team for compliance
- Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work
- Prepare comprehensive bid evaluations, and submit detailed RFI’s for items that require clarification/definition
- Prepare company proposals
- Collaborate with project management teams to gather information on project requirements and timelines
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for estimates
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and related documentation
Skills Needed:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a construction discipline preferred but not required
- Minimum of two years estimating experience (will look at junior, mid and senior level profiles)
- Experience in the construction industry in an estimating capacity preferred
- Strong ambition to succeed with a highly-developed sense of professional ethics
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to work both on a team as well as independently
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations
- Availability to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances
- Ability to travel to sites and perform site assessments and work scopes as required
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel & Word primarily)
- Planswift take-off software and digital images (how to open, view, customize and print images)
