Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring the safety and comfort of children while providing exceptional service. This role involves driving various types of buses, including those for paratransit services, and requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate buses on designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Educate passengers about safety procedures and provide assistance when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior to ensure passenger comfort.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Assist children and individuals with disabilities in boarding and disembarking safely.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including trip logs and incident reports.
- Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations calmly and efficiently.
Experience
- Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual or multilingual skills are highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively while adhering to schedules.
