Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Painter . Capital Coating is a leader in building coatings, whether roof, wall or floor.
We need experienced individuals who enjoy challenging assignments. These may include metal structures, grain silo's, towers and standard interior/exterior wall painting. We work in environments such as manufacturing, water plants, utilities, food plants and more.
The company is known for it's blasting services such as sand blasting, ice blasting or high pressure water blasting. You may be exposed to these opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools for efficient coverage.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project scope and specific requirements for each job.
- Utilize construction estimating skills to assess project needs accurately and manage time effectively on-site.
- Operate construction equipment like scaffolding, ladders, concrete finishing tools, welding equipment (if qualified), and other hand or power tools safely.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to ensure project timelines are met while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the process to guarantee the highest standards of craftsmanship are achieved.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial painting with a solid understanding of construction site protocols and safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with painting techniques as well as industrial painting applications.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, trim carpentry tools, plastering equipment, and power tools including airless sprayers.
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques like sanding, scraping, priming or sealing surfaces before painting.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to working at heights on scaffolding or ladders; willingness to follow all safety protocols diligently.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for estimating paint quantities and project planning.
- Construction site experience is highly preferred; candidates should be comfortable working in diverse environments with varying project scopes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
