Independent Restaurant Supply is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our staff. This role is based primarily at our Portland, ME store, with occasional shifts at our Portsmouth, NH location.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in keeping things organized, and isn't afraid of physical work. Your primary focus will be checking in inventory, stocking merchandise, and helping keep our warehouse and sales floors running smoothly, while also helping customers and supporting the rest of our team wherever needed.
What You'll Do
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming pallet shipments
- Label and stock merchandise throughout the store and warehouse
- Keep warehouse and stock areas clean, organized, and easy to navigate
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management when stock is running low
- Assemble customer orders for pickup and delivery
- Help customers locate products, load purchases into vehicles, and process purchases at the register when needed
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks including sweeping, dusting, and taking out trash and recycling
- Jump in to help cover other responsibilities as needed when team members are out
What We're Looking For
- Able to repeatedly lift and move 50+ pounds
- Comfortable being on your feet and moving a lot throughout the workday
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently while also being a reliable team player
- Able to safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and carts
- Forklift experience and certification is a big plus, but not required!
- Willing to work at both our Portland and Portsmouth locations when needed (paid travel time between stores when working at both locations on the same day)
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Schedule
- 15–25 hours per week
- Hours are scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Most shifts will be spent at the Portland location, though occasional shifts may require working in Portsmouth or at both stores. Paid travel time is provided between locations when applicable.
