Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant/CPA to join our local public accounting firm. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the clients we serve. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both corporate and individual tax, proficiency with various accounting software, and a solid understanding of GAAP principles. Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate bookkeeping records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, to ensure proper financial data entry.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to verify account accuracy.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data.
- Support special projects related to technical accounting, or other financial initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or staff accounting roles within a public accounting firm.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial tools.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, and tax preparation experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile complex accounts accurately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
