CAD Operator / Fire Alarm & Low
Voltage Drafting Assistant
to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with AutoCAD experience who wants to build a career in thefire alarm and low-voltage industry.
Fire alarm experience is preferred but not required — we are
willing to train the right candidate.
The position will work closely with our project management and technical teams to prepare drawings,submittals, and project documentation for commercial fire alarm and low-voltage systems.
What You'll Do
Prepare and revise commercial fire alarm and low-voltage shop drawings using AutoCAD andBlueBeam Revu
Develop floor plan device layouts, system riser diagrams, and installation details
Assist with panel layouts and system configuration drawings
Assist with battery calculations and voltage-drop calculations
Prepare drawings and documentation for permit and submittal packages
Review plans, specifications, and project information for accuracy
Prepare and maintain record drawings and as-built drawings
Make drawing revisions based on field conditions, project changes, and review comments
Assist with equipment submittals, operations manuals, and project closeout documentation
Coordinate with project managers, technicians, and installation personnel
Maintain organized project drawing files and documentation
Help ensure drawings meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable requirements
What We're Looking For
Experience with
AutoCAD 2D
or similar CAD software
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn fire alarm systems, low-voltage systems, applicable codes, and industry standards
Fire alarm, electrical, low-voltage, construction, or engineering experience is a plus, but not required.
Experience
AutoCAD or related drafting experience is preferred. An associate degree in drafting, engineeringtechnology, or a related field is a plus but
not required for the right candidate
.
Candidates with strong CAD skills who are interested in learning fire alarm and low-voltage system designare encouraged to apply.
Compensation
$20.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Candidates with direct fire alarm design and submittal experience may be considered at a higher startingrate based on their capabilities.
