Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of Japanese dishes, including tempura, ramen, and other traditional specialties, ensuring authentic flavors and presentation.
- Follow established recipes meticulously while maintaining flexibility to adapt to customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, grills, and broilers safely and efficiently.
- Implement food safety and sanitizing procedures consistently to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Manage food production during high-volume service periods while maintaining quality control and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, proper food handling, and adherence to dietary restrictions or special requests.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Japanese cook with a strong background in authentic cuisine preparation.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a professional kitchen setting.
- Exceptional knife skills with the ability to execute precise cuts for sushi, sashimi, and other dishes.
- Experience with food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, frying, and food handling in high-volume environments.
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry standards for quality assurance.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure during busy service hours.
