Blue Valley Tractor & Supply is an Outdoor Power Equipment dealer located in south Johnson County, KS. We are currently hiring a Shop Helper that involves assisting in day-to-day operations, maintaining cleanliness, and tidiness of the shop floor area, along with organizing inventory, setting up equipment, and providing exceptional customer service. Primary duties for this position are listed below.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily operations of the shop
- Clean and organize work areas and equipment
- Unload and load supplies and materials as needed
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment and machinery
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery
- Repair or replace tires
- Sharpen mower blades and chain saw chains
- Provide support to other staff members as needed
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures
Requirements:
- Fork Lift Experience required
- Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment
- Basic knowledge of tools and machinery used in a shop environment
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with fellow shop employees
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks
Experience
- Previous experience in a shop or retail environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with using an Ohmmeter or similar testing equipment is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues professionally.
