Bonnie Brae is currently seeking a Residential Director to lead residential services on our 100-acre campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. As a member of the senior management team, the Residential Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and performance of residential services on the main campus. This position provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and supervision of residential leadership staff while ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, accreditation expectations, and Bonnie Brae’s mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities
· Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and accountability to residential staff.
· Ensure residential services are delivered in accordance with contract deliverables, agency standards, and best practices.
· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and trauma-informed care.
· Monitor program performance through data collection, analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with all licensing, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual requirements.
· Collaborate with clinical, educational, health, psychiatric, and administrative departments to support positive youth outcomes.
· Develop and implement staff training, professional development, and leadership development initiatives.
· Participate in strategic planning, program development, budgeting, and organizational decision-making as a member of the leadership team.
· Respond to significant incidents and operational issues as needed.
Candidate will possess the following:
Education / Knowledge / Experience:
· Master’s Degree in a Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services or a related behavioral health field required.
· LCSW or LPC New Jersey license a plus.
· Minimum of seven years of progressive supervisory and management experience in a residential, behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice or other out of home treatment setting.
· Demonstrated experience supervising supervisors, managers, or program leadership staff.
· Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strength-based treatment approaches.
· Knowledge of crisis intervention and crisis management models.
· Experience managing complex residential operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and staff development programs.
· Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience in a residential treatment center, psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF), or comparable 24-hour behavioral health setting.
· Experience working with youth with complex behavioral health, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
· Experience with Joint Commission, Medicaid, and New Jersey licensing and regulatory requirements.
· Valid Driver’s license – not currently suspended or suspended over the last three years due to accidents or moving violations.
