Drums VS Flats is a Charlotte-based fried chicken food trailer known for bold flavors and a loyal customer following. We serve regularly at Charlotte Premium Outlets and travel to festivals and large events across the Charlotte area.
We're looking for dependable, motivated individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and want to be part of a team helping grow one of Charlotte's favorite local food brands.
This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys food service, interacting with customers, and working in a high-energy mobile kitchen environment.
Schedule
- Typical Operating Days: Wednesday – Sunday
- Typical Closed Days: Monday & Tuesday
- Hours Available: 24–40 hours per week
Occasionally, our operating schedule may shift based on events, bookings, or seasonal opportunities. When this happens, the work schedule may adjust accordingly. Closed days may also sometimes be used for paid prep work or trailer cleaning to keep operations running smoothly.
Pay Structure
- Base Pay: $16.00 per hour
- Pay Schedule: Paid Weekly
- Tips: Credit card tips are split evenly between employees working each shift after successfully completing a 60-day probationary period.
Based on recent sales, tips average approximately $2.50 per hour per employee, bringing typical earnings to around $18.50 per hour after the probationary period.
Team members who demonstrate reliability, leadership, and strong performance will have opportunities for raises, promotions, and additional responsibilities.
What You'll Do
Team members rotate between three primary stations during shifts:
Fry Station
Cook chicken while maintaining fryer quality, timing, and consistency.
Prep / Plate Station
Prepare sides and plate orders according to our food standards.
Order Window
Take customer orders, process payments, and provide excellent customer service.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization inside the trailer
- Following food safety and sanitation standards
- Helping with trailer setup and breakdown when needed
Travel & Events
Our main operating location is Charlotte Premium Outlets, but Drums VS Flats also participates in festivals, private events, and large community events throughout the Charlotte area.
Company transportation is typically provided for most events.
Employees who choose to drive their own vehicle may receive gas reimbursement.
