We are a brand-new pediatric dental practice in Cedarhurst, NY and are excited to grow a positive, energetic, and child-focused team. Our office is designed to be welcoming, efficient, and fun for kids, while also providing a supportive and organized workplace for our staff.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly child-friendly Pediatric Dental Assistant who thrives in a busy, well-supported environment and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
- Schedule Needed: Sundays, Thursdays
- Future Opportunity: As the practice opens additional days, this role can transition to full-time
- Pay: $23/hour starting, with strong growth potential as the practice expands
- Practice Type: Pediatric dentistry serving a Medicaid population
- Environment: Fast-paced, organized, team-oriented, and supportive
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist chairside with pediatric procedures
- Take dental X-rays confidently (we utilize phosphor plates)
- Set up and break down operatories efficiently
- Maintain excellent infection control and sterilization standards
- Anticipate needs and take initiative when issues arise
- Help ensure smooth patient flow in a high-volume setting
- Create a calm, positive experience for children and parents
What We’re Looking For
- A warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality who loves working with kids
- Comfortable working in a high-volume pediatric Medicaid practice
- Strong teamwork skills—works well with other assistants, hygienists, and doctors
- Proactive and dependable; sees what needs to be done and steps in
- Spanish-speaking (in addition to English) is a plus
- Motivated to grow with a startup practice and be part of something long-term
