We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support two brothers, ages 12 and 15, in Hillsboro. Approximately 30 hours a week.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday 6:30am-8:00am
- If possibly also 2:30pm-7:00pm
- Hours will be split between supporting both children
- Approximately 30 hours per week
About the 12-Year-Old
He has a wonderful smile, a great sense of humor, and a playful, friendly personality. He enjoys singing, dancing, video games, and watching movies and TV shows. He thrives with consistency, routine, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.
Support goals include:
- Increasing independence with personal hygiene
- Learning toileting skills, including wiping independently
- Improving communication of needs and wants
- Safe participation in community activities and outings
About the 15-Year-Old
He is a happy, fun-loving teen who enjoys giving hugs. His tablet, family, and cat are very important to him. He also enjoys camping, cars, being outdoors, video games, and movies.
Support goals include:
- Increasing independence with hygiene routines
- Completing household chores
- Reducing challenging behaviors through positive support strategies
- Community engagement and outings
- Learning about money and basic financial skills
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has DSP experience or relevant caregiving experience
- Is patient, dependable, and calm
- Can provide structure and consistency
- Is comfortable navigating mood swings and challenging behaviors
- Has a positive, calm, and supportive personality
- Can actively engage the boys in activities they enjoy while helping them build independence and life skills

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance.
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
