About the work:
We install luxury rubberized concrete resurfacing (usually on pool decks and patios), play surfaces and more. This is artistic finishing work, offering a lot of challenge, gratification, and an ability to learn or improve high-demand construction skills. Although most of the work is local to Fort Myers/Naples, Universal Studios in Orlando is one of our clients and will require occasional 1-2 week work trips (travel work is offered at a higher pay rate and travel expenses are covered). We are very highly skilled and trusted by these high-profile clients and you will be learning industry best practices with our company.
Previous experience in our systems is not necessary, only a willingness to learn, work hard, and a strong attention to detail. The first skillset you will learn is mixing, followed by troweling. We need additional foremen, so there is room for long-term growth at this company and there is much demand for our services. Future opportunities include Foreman, Troweler, Estimator, and for particularly excellent employees, potential future franchise ownership/management.
Most of our work will be in the Fort Myers/Naples area. You would meet us at our Fort Myers warehouse and travel with the crew to the job site. Travel time from our warehouse to the jobsite is paid.
Requirements:
- Most important -- the right cultural fit with our Core Values. This means someone who has extreme attention to detail, treats everyone with respect, can keep themselves to a task without constant monitoring, is dedicated to quality and good work, is cool-headed, dependably comes to work on-time, and is willing to learn.
- Required -- past work experience in outdoor Florida. We need people who can 'take the heat' although we have invested heavily to make the jobsite much cooler than most outdoor jobsites.
- Past experience in flooring installation, drywall, carpentry, concrete, tile, or stucco is preferred but not mandatory. We will train you on this unique system whether experienced or not.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Ability to work well as a team.
- Ability to carefully follow directions.
- Desire to learn.
- Courtesy to fellow workers and our customers.
- Light math is needed for calculating mixing ratios and spread rates.
- Reliable transportation to our Fort Myers warehouse.
- Driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 55-75 lbs repeatedly.
- Pride in workmanship.
