Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlist procedures with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Coordinate seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Lead and support host/hostess team members, providing guidance on customer service standards and restaurant protocols
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service flow
- Handle guest inquiries, resolve concerns promptly, and foster positive guest relations to enhance overall experience
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Assist with training new team members on reservation systems, phone etiquette, and guest services
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in food service with leadership responsibilities preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and guests
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is a plus for understanding guest relations in diverse settings
- Ability to handle phone inquiries efficiently while maintaining professional phone etiquette
- Knowledge of guest services, serving procedures, and hospitality standards to create welcoming environments
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team and manage multiple priorities effectively
