Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mortgage Processor and Program Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the end-to-end mortgage processing workflow, ensuring compliance with federal and industry regulations while delivering exceptional service to our homebuyers. Your expertise in loan origination, underwriting support, and mortgage servicing will help streamline our operations and support our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
Responsibilities Include:
Homeownership Program
- Serves as contact for families inquiring about the Homeownership Program
- Manage pre-screening, application intake, interviews, and eligibility determination
- Communicate program requirements, timelines, and next steps to applicants
- Assist Director with candidate selection and notify applicant of approval or denial
- Coordinate with lenders, title companies, and DPA partners to process closings
- Guide homebuyers on securing mortgage approvals and down payment assistance
- Ensure timely closing schedule based on home completions
- Manage and track homebuyer education, orientations, and sweat equity
- Collect, review, and maintain required documentation to ensure compliance
- Identify and establish new lending and down payment assistance for program
Mortgage Servicing & Portfolio Support
- Act as liaison mortgage servicer for new and existing mortgages
- Monitor mortgage performance and assist Director with delinquency follow-up
- Maintain mortgage records and assist with reporting requirements
Preservation & Repair Program
- Assist with application intake, documentation collection, and eligibility review
- Support creation and recording of mortgages for eligible repair projects
Outreach & General Duties
- Represent HFHLS program department at internal and external events
- Support program development initiatives, partnerships, and organizational goals
- Collaborate with internal staff across departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK CONDITIONS
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in housing programs, lending, mortgage processing, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systems (e.g., NewOrg)
- PT position (hours are 20-30) based out of the Eustis office
- Office-based work with occasional travel for meetings, closings, and events
- May require occasional evening or weekend availability

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
