Job Overview:
The Senior Subcontracts Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of subcontracts for various energy services projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards. This role involves significant collaboration with project teams, procurement, and legal departments.
Responsibilities:**
- Develop, negotiate, and administer complex subcontracts for construction, engineering, and maintenance services within the energy sector.
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), bid packages, and other procurement documents.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals, conduct cost analysis, and recommend selection of subcontractors.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including scope of work, pricing, schedules, and legal clauses, to protect company interests.
- Ensure all subcontracts comply with corporate policies, client specific requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, manage change orders, claims, and disputes, and resolve contractual issues effectively.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, construction managers, engineering teams, and legal counsel throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive subcontract files and documentation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior subcontract administrators.
- Participate in subcontractor pre-qualification processes and performance evaluations.
- Identify and mitigate potential subcontract-related risks.
Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in subcontracts administration, procurement, or contract management within the energy, industrial, or heavy construction sectors.
- Proven experience negotiating and managing complex subcontracts valued in the millions.
- Strong understanding of various contract types (e.g., lump sum, cost-plus, time and materials).
- In-depth knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, legal implications, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
