American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Nights ICU position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and IL licensure.

Work in the ICU (MICU) of an acute care hospital setting
-
12-bed unit with a max census of 11, including 1 bed reserved for inpatient dialysis
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3, occasionally caring for IMU patients
-
Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, sepsis, MI, DKA, COVID, and ventilated patients
-
RNs are required to titrate common ICU drips such as paralytics, sedatives, cardizem, and amio
-
Charge nurse and Administrative House Supervisor on-site 24/7, with charge nurse taking a patient assignment
-
Hospitalist in-house 22/7 with on-call coverage from 5A-7A, and Intensivist available by phone 24/7
-
RT manages ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment; RNs troubleshoot as needed
-
Monitor tech on-site watching ICU and tele patients; cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred

12-hour night shifts, scheduled 630p-7a
-
Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)

Every other holiday coverage required
-
No call or standby requirements
-
ICU travelers may float to Med Surg as needed

Uses EPIC EMR
-
Active IL RN license required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA) required
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
-
Acute care hospital experience required
-
EPIC EMR experience preferred
-
Negative drug screen required for all panels
-
Provide direct ICU nursing care including drip titration and monitoring of critically ill patients
-
Primary care unit with no nurse aids or patient care techs
-
Unit orientation includes 3 days: online modules and general facility orientation on day 1, followed by 2 days on the floor with a preceptor

Scrub color is navy blue and is not provided

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local pay rate
-
Cancellation policy allows up to 12 hours off per 13-week assignment with no penalty
