DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Psychological Services Specialists support individuals throughout Danville State Hospital by providing treatment, assessments, and guidance. This role requires patience, clear communication, and strong collaboration with the clinical team. As a Psychological Services Specialist, DHS, you will perform the following duties:
- Therapeutic Support: Provide psychological treatment, implement interventions, educate individuals, and assist during crises
- Assessment Activities: Conduct assessments, gather personal and clinical history, and document psychological testing
- Record Maintenance: Update electronic health records with treatment plans, notes, assessments, and progress information
- Quality Assurance: Promote high standards of care, uphold ethical guidelines, and participate in professional development
- Team Coordination: Help organize treatment team meetings, address goals, and support a trauma informed, collaborative environment
- Interdisciplinary Work: Collaborate with staff, attend meetings, assist with programming, and contribute to special projects
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A master’s degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
