Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health through precise data entry and analysis. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
- Conduct detailed general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards.
- Support budgeting, financial analysis, and variance analysis to assist management in strategic decision-making.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while performing data entry, bookkeeping, and financial recordkeeping tasks.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account analysis and account reconciliation.
- Utilize Excel data analysis skills for reporting purposes and improve efficiency through the use of spreadsheets and accounting systems like PeopleSoft or Ceridian.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
- Experience with financial software such as ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, or similar systems for payroll and HR management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills including spreadsheet creation and data analysis.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to handle complex account reconciliation processes involving multiple systems like Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting issues including GAAP compliance and SOX controls.
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions related to finance inquiries or vendor management.

Pay: $58,936.12 - $70,976.84 per year
