- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical histories
- Diagnose acute and chronic illnesses across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertions, and basic wound care using sterile techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like eMDs for accurate documentation
- Provide health coaching, preventive care counseling, and education tailored to Spanish-speaking patients when applicable
- Manage triage calls and urgent care cases efficiently to prioritize patient needs and coordinate follow-up care
Skills
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from an accredited program
- Fluency in Spanish preferred to enhance communication with diverse patient populations
- Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as eMDs for seamless documentation
- Knowledge of clinical procedures including suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, and IV infusion techniques
- Familiarity with CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards for accurate billing and medical records management
- Experience working in outpatient clinics
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing and sonography tools when necessary
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring patient confidentiality and data security
- Excellent communication skills to effectively serve both English and Spanish-speaking patients across diverse healthcare needs
