Overview
Join our café team as a dedicated and energetic Barista! In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable experiences for every guest through exceptional beverage service and friendly customer interactions.
Hours
Saturday 3:30pm to 7pm
Sunday 7am - 1:30pm
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Operate POS system
- Engage with customers warmly, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing excellent service to enhance their experience.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and dining spaces, adhering to food safety standards.
- Process cash transactions efficiently while balancing register drawers at shift end.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth operation of the café.
Requirements
- Up to date Food Handlers Card
- Previous barista experience or food service experience is highly preferred; familiarity with coffee industry standards is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and retail math calculations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining energy and focus throughout shifts.
- Commitment to food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume times.
- Experience with beverage service, food preparation, or café operations is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
Pay: $16.00 per hour
