American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Sheboygan, WI, requiring at least 2 years of LDRP experience and NRP certification for a 13-week night shift contract.

Work in a Women's Health and OB Services unit within a 131-bed hospital designated as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
-
Unit includes 12 LDRP beds, 2 triage rooms, 2 ORs, and a 10-bed Level II NICU
-
Average census of 60–80 births per month
-
Patient population includes patients 32 weeks and above, with a majority of lower-risk cases; common diagnoses include hypertension, gestational diabetes, elevated BMI, substance abuse medication management, and epidural administration
-
Post-delivery care is provided by the same RN in the same room, through transition to discharge for both mother and baby
-
Experience with post-women's surgeries is preferred

Patient ratios: 1:1 for laboring, 1:2 for active labor, 1:3 for couplets

EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitoring: QS Centricity

12-hour night shifts, 1845–0715; day shift option available 0645–1915

36 hours per week

Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend
-
On-call: 6–7 four-hour blocks per 6-week schedule

Holiday rotation required, every other holiday
-
No floating required
-
Active WI or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS, NRP, and intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in cervical exams, amnioinfusions, epidural assistance, fetal monitoring, IV starts and management, Pitocin administration, baby catching/receiving, APGAR scoring, and basic breastfeeding education

Comfort with all aspects of postpartum care from delivery transition through discharge for both mother and baby

Circulator and PACU experience required

1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year required for consideration
-
Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Unit is supported by 2 techs, a charge nurse who takes patients, phlebotomy, L&D anesthesia on call, NNP 24/7, OBGYNs on call, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, and a lactation consultant available during the day who meets with every patient prior to discharge

Orientation consists of NEO plus 1–2 days of unit orientation depending on comfortability

Schedule is set by the Lead RN on a 6-week cycle; travelers receive the schedule 2 weeks before it begins

RTO of up to 7 days may be approved

Scrubs are provided by the facility
