American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring strong neuro critical care experience and an active VA or Compact RN license.

Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
-
Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), with 3x12 options available
-
Typical patient ratio of 1:2-3
-
Every other weekend and holiday coverage required within the contract
-
Floating required to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held

Epic EMR experience required

, VA or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration

Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only), and NIHSS

Three years of critical care experience preferred

Strong neuro critical care experience required
-
Proficiency in Epic required
-
Skilled in ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia recognition and management
-
Experience in emergency response and critical care management required

Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
-
No history of license or background hits permitted
-
Must be able to pass an EKG proficiency test with 80% or higher prior to starting orientation

, ICation and management of complex ICU patients including those with neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, and renal conditions
-
Skills utilized include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients

Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management is valued

Familiarity with CRRT/CVVHD and management of renal failure patients is beneficial
-
Administration and titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, and neuromuscular blockade required

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience, though it is preferred
