As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in evaluating communication needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and helping individuals strengthen their communication, social, and swallowing skills to promote greater independence and quality of life. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide evidence-based services that support each individual's personal goals.

Essential Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and contribute to Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) by providing individualized and group speech-language therapy tailored to each participant's needs.

Evaluate participant progress, maintain accurate therapy documentation, collect performance data, and modify treatment strategies to support continued growth.

Develop, implement, and maintain augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, visual support, and other communication strategies to promote independence and effective communication.

Model communication techniques and provide training and guidance to Direct Support Professionals, staff, families, and caregivers to ensure consistent implementation of communication goals.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, leadership, and families by participating in team meetings, ISP meetings, and care planning discussions.

Assist leadership in developing and enhancing speech-language programs and services to improve participant outcomes.

Maintain professional competency by participating in required trainings, continuing education, and other professional development opportunities.

Foster a collaborative, person-centered environment while advocating for the communication needs and overall well-being of the individuals served.
Qualifications
-
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
-
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with speech and language disorders; experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.

Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), evidence-based therapeutic interventions, AAC systems, and alternative communication methods preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community partners.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and person-centered care.
Employment Requirements
-
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).

Active New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.

Maintain all required professional licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and ability to travel as needed.

Successful completion of all required background checks, fingerprinting, and drug screening.

Maintain required crisis management certification.

Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting with participant mobility, and responding quickly in emergency situations.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
