Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pipefitter Helper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist experienced pipefitters in installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and construction while contributing to high-quality thermal processing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assist pipefitters with the installation and assembly of piping systems according to construction plans and schematics
- Prepare materials and tools necessary for pipefitting tasks, including cutting, threading, and bending pipes
- Support welding activities such as MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and pipe welding following safety standards and codes like ASME and NFPA
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring devices to ensure precise fabrication and installation
- Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols on construction sites or manufacturing facilities
- Assist with pipe threading, soldering, tube bending, rigging, and fire sprinkler fitting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts related to pipefitting and fabrication processes
- Experience or familiarity with construction site work or manufacturing environments preferred
- Ability to read construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings effectively
- Knowledge of safety regulations including NFPA standards and power tool safety practices
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as calipers and pipe wrenches; experience with power tools is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Willingness to learn new skills related to pipe installation, maintenance, HVAC systems, sprinkler systems, and pipeline work
