About Us
Global Lingual Academy is a vibrant, multilingual learning center that inspires young children to explore languages and cultures through hands-on activities, music, games, stories, and creative projects. We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic Mandarin-speaking teacher to join our preschool co-op program for children ages 2–5.
Position Overview
The Part-Time Mandarin Chinese Preschool Teacher will lead a small, play-based preschool group of up to 12 children ages 2–5 in an engaging Mandarin-rich environment. The teacher will incorporate Mandarin naturally throughout the day through play, songs, stories, art, movement, routines, and hands-on activities.
This position is ideal for someone who loves working with young children and enjoys creating a nurturing, language-rich classroom where children can develop an early connection to Mandarin and Chinese culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily preschool activities for children ages 2–5 in a small-group setting of no more than 12 students
- Use Mandarin throughout the school day to create an immersive and supportive language environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based lessons and activities
- Incorporate songs, stories, movement, art, sensory activities, games, and hands-on learning into the classroom
- Support children's social-emotional development, independence, and positive peer interactions
- Help children transition between activities and follow daily classroom routines
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
- Prepare classroom materials and learning activities before class
- Assist with classroom setup and cleanup
- Communicate with the director regarding student progress, classroom needs, or concerns
- Work collaboratively with co-op families, staff, and other teachers
- Participate in occasional special events or enrichment activities as needed (paid)
Qualifications
- Fluent or highly proficient in Mandarin Chinese
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
- Experience in a preschool, childcare, enrichment, or teaching setting preferred
- Warm, patient, energetic, and engaging personality
- Comfortable leading a small group of young children
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Creative and enthusiastic about play-based learning
- Passionate about sharing Mandarin language and Chinese culture with young children
- Reliable, punctual, flexible, and a strong team player
- Ability to create a positive and welcoming environment for children and families
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay, based on experience and qualifications.
