The Licensed Child Care Assistant Group Supervisor will oversee the operation of the licensed Day Camp including but not limited to: planning and implementing daily program activities; coordinating activities with all staff; and assisting the Director with designated activities. Provides direct supervision of a group of children in a licensed childcare program.

Job Responsibilities
Planning and implementing daily program activities
Coordinating activities of Assistant Group Supervisors and Aides (Camp Counselor – Licensed)
Assisting the Director with designated activities
Communicating effectively with participants, parents/guardians, team members, and supervisor
Managing difficult situations with a high level of professionalism
Making independent decisions and determining appropriate courses of action
Leading and participating in activities in a variety of outdoor and indoor settings
Ensuring the safety and welfare of participants and team members
Assuring compliance with YMCA quality standards and safety protocols related to camp programs
Ensuring upkeep of facilities and equipment, including set-up and closing of activities
Understanding emergency procedures, responding appropriately, and knowing the location of emergency equipment
Maintaining attendance records as required
Observing and discussing individual progress with participants and parents/guardians as appropriate
Maintaining compliance with required training, clearances, and certifications
Attending meetings and training as required
Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Age
Education and Experience (One of the Following Required)
High school diploma or GED and 30 college credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services
High school diploma or GED and 600+ hours of approved secondary training (per § 3270.31(c))
High school diploma or GED, 15 relevant college credit hours, and 1 year of experience with children
High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved post-secondary training curriculum (per § 3270.31(c))
High school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience with children
Skills and Abilities
Ability to teach and demonstrate a variety of skills and activities appropriate to programs
Ability to develop and implement programming
Ability to lead and direct camp staff
