American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 1 year of experience for an acute care Level 2 trauma hospital OR position, requiring proficiency in either Ortho/Neuro or General/Robotics surgical specialties.

13-week contract with an 8-hour rotating shift schedule (0645-1515, 0900-1730, 1500-2330, and weekend-only 0700-1930)

40 hours per week guaranteed

Uses EPIC EMR system

General/Robotics track cases include peds through geriatric patients, cystoscopies, DaVinci XI robotic cases for General/GYN/Urology, ION robotic cases, open bellies, and endo/GI scope procedures

Ortho/Neuro track cases include total joints (hips, knees, shoulders), sports medicine, arthroscopies, neuro-spinal fusions, cervical and lumbar cases, micro discs, and craniotomies

Ortho/Neuro track averages 25-30 cases per day

Charge nurse coverage on all shifts (7a-11p M-F, 7a-7p weekends), with manager coverage until 4p M-F

Weeknight call required 1-2 times per week (1515-0645)

Weekend call required approximately every 3-4 weekends (Fri 1515-Mon 0645)

Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with permanent staff

Call response time is 15 minutes with 8-hour reprieve shifts available post-call

Floating required to cross-train for second scrub in other specialty cases and to the floor as a 1:1 sitter when needed

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist required

Experience in either Ortho/Neuro OR General/Robotics surgical specialties required

BLS certification required
-
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential via NBSTSA or NCCT required

ND UAP certification required
-
License required if applicable

Perform surgical technologist duties supporting a family-oriented department atmosphere

Scrubs are provided by the facility
-
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not currently or recently have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) directly by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity

Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission
