Qualifications – Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Dispatcher (NEMT)
- Must possess clerical, computer processing, and data entry skills, Invoicing, etc.
- Must be able to learn and effectively use/navigate computer scheduling software (Mediroutes)
- Answer phones and accurately input data into dispatch software in a timely manner.
- Must be familiar with data entry processes to correctly enter all member demographic and trip information.
- Enter and schedule assigned trips, assist with record keeping, along with various other assigned duties to include compliance and supervision.
- Answer calls and enter trip information into dispatch systems.
- Schedule and dispatch non-emergency medical transportation trips.
- Use scheduling software, GPS, and manifests to manage routes.
- Communicate with drivers, members, brokers, and facilities.
- Handle cancellations, no-shows, and scheduling corrections.
- Assist drivers with route issues and dispatch support.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and trip logs.
- Identify and correct errors in scheduling and data entry.
- Ensure timely and efficient trip completion and dispatch flow.
- Support compliance, reporting, and operational coordination tasks.
- Apply critical thinking skills towards problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Properly assist drivers who have difficulties with their assigned routes.
- Utilize scheduling software, GPS, and trip manifest to direct and maintain effective and efficient routes for drivers.
- Be able to communicate between software, members, drivers, brokers, and facilities in cases where there are no shows, cancellations, incorrect information on the manifest, or any issue that may arise.
- Be proactive in detecting and correcting errors
- Must be familiar with prioritization, and dispatch to completion for all incoming calls to the company.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, learn quickly, multi task, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
- Must understand the importance of safe and one-time member/driver transport. Experience with healthcare scheduling or medical service dispatching is preferred.
Experience with Mediroutes or any scheduling software for Non-emergency Medical Transportation is preferred.
