Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients safely
- Buse tables and clear dining areas promptly to maintain a clean and welcoming atmosphere
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes of supplies to ensure safety and prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sanitizing workstations, floors, sinks, and other surfaces regularly
- Support the kitchen team by organizing dishware and utensils for efficient use during service hours
- Adhere strictly to kitchen health and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation protocols at all times
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety management and sanitation practices in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Experience with dishwashing equipment operation and basic kitchen tasks such as food handling and cleaning
- Knowledge of food preparation processes, including knife skills and safe manual handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining efficiency during busy service periods
