Social Work Specialist

Reports to: Student Advocacy Supervisor
Terms of Employment: 183.5 days (optional 10 extra service days)
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Student Advocacy Services Director and in collaboration with related specialists and district/school staff, the Social Work Specialist will be responsible for developing, refining, and implementing a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) for the PBSS Anchor priorities listed in Ogden School District’s strategic plan - Behavior, Attendance, and Interpersonal Skills.
Essential Functions:

Coach and support school team members with implementation of tiered systems of support.

Train and coach tiered interventions and supports.

Oversee programs supporting students living in at risk conditions or students at risk of dropout.

Collaborate with community based partners.

Collaborate with and support Youth Court team.

Train and coach school-based Child Assistance Team (ChAT) meetings.

Communicate system needs and action steps to stakeholders Engage in professional development to refine coaching skills to support school teams.

Maintain knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures that impact PBSS, SEL, and mental health.

Complete mental health screenings and assessments in accordance with state and district procedures.

Engage in observation and feedback cycles to support PBSS MTSS implementation.

Prepare and submit reports, presentations, and action items according to due dates.

Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

Education/Requirements:

Master’s Degree in social work Utah Educators License (AEL required with time provided to complete PEL)

Minimum of three years successful experience in education or related services field (preferred)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker license (preferred)
