Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical flow.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging, adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) system, Denticon ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and managing patient management software to schedule appointments and follow-ups.
- Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, verifying insurance information, and assisting with medical documentation as needed.
- Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to infection prevention policies in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Experience with dentistry or oral surgery procedures is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures ensures compliance with safety standards.
- Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient management are essential for success in this role.
