Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load, unload, and organize auto parts using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices to optimize time and fuel consumption while ensuring timely arrivals.
- Load and secure auto parts onto delivery vehicles, practicing safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury.
- Deliver auto parts directly to customers’ locations, providing excellent customer service by addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in compliance with company policies.
- Follow all safety protocols during manual handling, moving heavy items, and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks in warehouse operations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in warehouse operations involving material handling equipment operation.
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving practices, including driving a box truck or commercial truck with manual transmission.
- Ability to handle heavy loads safely while adhering to weight handling regulations in the workplace.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiar with route driving and adhering to traffic laws.
- Experience with warehouse experience including moving goods, manual handling, and safe lifting practices.
- Proficiency with mobile devices for navigation, route planning, and communication purposes.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor during deliveries.
